Breaking up with my inside rein and a question

I am having trouble with the concept of "letting go" of my inside rein. I have been working on it in my lessons, but I am really lost when I am at home. My biggest question is .... how do I still turn without using the inside rein? I know I'm missing something, but neither my instructor nor the internet can seem to explain how to turn without using the inside of it. My horse just kind of wanders around wherever she wants to go when I am not directing her with the inside rein. How do I get my horse to bend to the inside without the inside rein? Or is that an "okay" use of the inside rein?

Thanks

I did not find the right solution from the internet.
